My Summary
About Me
I am currently a second year university student studying Early Years and Education. I am looking for part time work and I am on the DBS update service. I have worked with many children and really enjoy seeing them develop and grow. I am patient because I understand that children can be unpredictable and challenging at times, but I am always able to stay calm and composed. I believe that this is crucial in ensuring a safe and positive environment for the children in my care. I am responsible, reliable, and organized. I understand the importance of following a schedule and sticking to routines, especially when it comes to children. I am always punctual and make sure to communicate effectively with parents to ensure that their expectations are met. Along with being responsible, I am also adaptable. I understand that each family has their own unique way of doing things, and I am always open to learning and adjusting to fit their needs. I genuinely love being around children. I find joy in their curiosity, energy, and creativity. I am always eager to engage in activities with them, whether it be playing games, doing arts and crafts, or reading stories. I also understand the importance of outdoor play and encourage children to spend time outside, whether it be going for walks, playing at the park, or just enjoying the backyard. I also drive.
My Experience
Working as a support worker and teaching assistant in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me. The EYFS is a crucial stage in a child's development, as it lays the foundation for their future learning and growth. As a support worker, I have had the opportunity to work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, providing them with the necessary care and support they need to thrive. This includes assisting with their personal care, helping them with their daily routines, and providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn and play in. In addition to this, I have also been able to work alongside the EYFS teachers as a teaching assistant in different schools and nurseries. This role has allowed me to support the children's learning by preparing and organizing activities, resources, and materials that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for the children. I have also been able to observe and assess the children's progress, which has given me valuable insights into their individual learning styles and needs. One of the most fulfilling aspects of working in the EYFS has been watching the children grow and develop during their time in the setting. I have been able to witness their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, as well as their social and emotional growth. It is truly heartwarming to see the children's confidence and independence blossom as they explore and discover the world around them. Moreover, working in the EYFS has also allowed me to develop my own skills and knowledge. Through continuous training and professional development, I have gained a deeper understanding of child development, safeguarding, and the EYFS curriculum. This has not only enhanced my ability to support the children but has also allowed me to develop strong relationships with parents and other professionals involved in the children's care and education. I have also completed two years worth of placement working in different schools and nurseries.
