Sharon's Little Shadows......

Hi everyone and thank you for taking the time to view my profile.

Firstly, having been in the same situation as you, searching for childcare, I can so appreciate how difficult it is for you finding the right person as I've been there myself! Leaving your most precious little baby with a stranger is the hardest and biggest decision to make and let me tell you, no one was good enough to look after my child when i was looking, but, I did find someone eventually and now 27yrs later I'm still in contact with her and she's probably one of my best friends now !!

So, to help you feel at ease and get to know me a little better, here's a little introduction about myself along with the services that I will provide for you and your child along with my policies & procedures guide, my qualifications and experiences.

I am an 'OUTSTANDING' Ofsted Registered ACCREDITED NETWORK Childminder with 24 years experience and immense training, whichnis ongoing and also qualified to Degree Level in many areas.

I provide a warm, safe & secure, friendly & family orientated environment in which your child can have fun learning and exploring the world around them. I am very loving towards the children and treat all the children within my care as if they were my own. We have lots of hugs and cuddles as I feel this reassures the children with a sense of belonging; it also encourages them to learn to love and be affectionate and show their emotions. I always give praise and encouragement where it is needed as children thrive on this and helps develop them further.

I provide many activities and lots n lots of outings. We go to toddler groups, farms, cinemas, theatres, the seaside, parks, big adventures in the woods, theme parks and water splash parks to name but a few! But, most importantly, your child will have a huge amount of fun here to experience and learn from at his/her own pace with guidance. From these experiences your child will learn how to have fun whilst learning and mastering new skills from the wide range of experiences I provide for them. They will develop at a faster rate as majority of your childs learning is based on 'hands-on' experiences taking our 'indoor' learning outside. I even take the children into a restaurant to reinforce different environments and encourage appropriate behaviour.

Currently I am working in partnership with SIGNATURE CARE HOMES providing the DIMENTIA residents with toddler groups to enhance their memories and build special bonds between them and the children. Having provided this service over the last 5 years the benefits to both residents and the children in my care is second to none. It overwhelms me! The families in my care are also encouraged to attend when they are able to. We all look forward to our weekly visits and the residents are now embracing their sessions and are even remembering us and talk about us to their families. We have made a huge impact into their lives and even received a huge recognitionit in the local newspapers.

As a result of the services I provide, your child will also learn how to socialise with other children and adults and have respect for others.

With the ever changing Ofsted curriculum, Observations are key to assessing your childs development with the 'Early Years Foundation Stage' and this will be shared with yourselves and will be discussed with you in depth .. I will plan yr child's next stage of development to enable yr child to grow, enhance their learning and become an independent and confident little person ready for school. Working in partnership with parents is the key here, to enable your child to see the bond we all have which in turns gains trust in each other and builds upon a lovely friendship and a happy nurturing environment for yr child to thrive on.

I'm also a Support Childminder, training the new Childminders in the local area. I am a member of the National Childminding Association now known as 'PACEY', Farnborough Childminding Association and Yateley Childminding Association and the Hampshire Cluster Network. Im now a Committee member for the Farnborough Childminding Association, which enables me to help deliver more activities, arts & crafts, and social events for the children at the toddler groups.

I hold a full Public Liability Insurance and hold Fully Comprehensive Childminding Insurance on my vehicle. I also hold an Enhanced CRB Police check.

I do work on recommendation, so I do encourage parents to liase with me if ever a problem arises. I am very approachable and work well with all families

OFSTED have registered me with overnight care so please feel free to use this facility if required.

I also offer Night Nannying services, so u can grab a good night's sleep whilst I take care of your little newborn or children in the early years. if this is something that would interest you then please contact me. I'm here to help take your pressures away.

My daughter is also registered with Ofsted as my Assistant and also helps families with babysitting duties when the need arises.
