About Me
Hi my name is Vicki and I have been a childminder for 15yrs now and I honestly love my job. I live with my husband and 2 girls in a 3 bed house in Bitterne area of Southampton. My girls are aged 21 and 18 years old and we have 2 cats and (all cats are up to date with jabs and flea treatment), we also have some fish and turtles.
I decided to become a Childminder when I had my second child as I felt I could be there for my own children, the children I care for are all treated like there my own and are all loved in there own special ways. I love the job I do as I get to become a child myself at heart and get stuck in playing and doing such fun things with the children. We go out everyday to all different places local parks, woods. Country parks groups like Jiggy Wrigglers, soft play centres and parent and toddlers groups. We do lots of fun activities at home including painting, sticking, lots of messy play and play doh. I have a good selection of toys in my home which also gets swapped around every few weeks to give the children a variation.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Development when doing observations on the children. In my last inspection with Ofsted I was graded GOOD overall. I hold a full clean driving licence, first aid certificate, safe guarding certificate. I have all insurances in place as well as all policies.
I can do school pickups and drop offs from Moorlands Primary school and can do pre-school drop offs and pickups from the local pre-schools around, just ask for more information.
My Experience
I have worked with children from age birth- 13yrs. Including some with special needs.
My Qualifications
I am currently working towards my Level 3 in Home based childcare.
I have a full first aid Certificate.
I have a Safe Guarding certificate.
I have a FCCERS (Family childcare enviormently rating scale)
