Looking for hourly care for an autistic eleven-year-old boy
We are a small family from Germany who regularly spend our holidays in St. Ives, Cornwall. Our son Manuel is 11 years old and he is autistic. He also has mild unilateral cerebral palsy. Everyday life with an autistic child is not easy and vacation is not always relaxing for the parents. That's why we asked ourselves whether there might be someone locally who would be willing and have the time to give us parents some relief for a short time during our vacation and to spend 2-3 hours on the beach with our son on one day or another. Our son is not fully verbal, and what he speaks he speaks in German. However, he was raised bilingual for the first three years of his life. He is therefore familiar with the English language, even if he certainly doesn't understand everything. But he communicates with his eyes and his smile and we are convinced that the right person can be a support, even despite the language barrier.
We are offering 17 £/hr.
My Requirements
For Manuel everything is about water. For this job you need to spend time with him watching the waves at the beach, throwing stones into the water or having an icecreame at the harbor.
Nor worries, he is not going into the water, except his feet!!
