My Summary
About Me
I'm a 23 year old teaching assistant offering afterschool nannying and babysitting as needed as well as during half terms and holidays.
I am kind, patient, creative and hardworking and I have a lot of experience with children and young adults with special needs. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I don't just strive to provide a safe, loving and fun environment for children but also to help them with their homework if need be and help in household duties like keeping their environment clean, cooking or laundry maintenance. I am first aid trained and have a Childcare DBS check in place.
My Experience
I currently work as a teaching assistant in a primary school. I'm a SEND TA on a 1:1 basis. Previously, I worked for three years as a support worker for adults and young adults with learning difficulties. This included personal care, medication and ministration, manual handling and hoisting, cooking and cleaning, organising activities for the people I supported and accompanying them in said activities and outings, supporting them emotionally, supporting them in their morning and nigh-time routines... Even though my experience in care working is mostly with vulnerable adults, I consider it very relevant when working with children and since I started working as a caree when I was just 19 and it required great responsibility, I consider it made me more than capable to care for children and realise the risks and requirements when caring for vulnerable people.
I also started babysitting when I was 16 and continued until I was 18. By that point I was also tutoring three different children weekly on Maths and English while studying for my A levels and finishing my studies. Two of them were in high school and one was in primary school. I have cared for children with ages ranging from 2 years old to 12.
My Qualifications
I have BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre, which I graduated with first class honours and I believe provides me creativity and open mindedness needed when caring for children. I have the Spanish equivalent of A levels with a grade average of an A. I am first aid trained, and I have a care certificate which includes autism awareness, medication administration, manual handling and fluids and nutrition awareness as well as many more that I am happy to provide a copy of.
My Availability
I am available to babysit a couple of days a week on a regular basis after school and evenings. Ideally it would be Wednesday to Friday but I am open to adjusting my schedule. I can also babysit occasionally on any particular day including weekends.
