About Me
I am a passionate maths teacher with nearly 15 years of experience. I am secondary trained but have worked in private prep schools for the last 12 years, specialising teaching maths to Years 4-8. I am currently Head of Maths at the school I work at, and am going on maternity leave in July.
I consider myself to be supportive and encouraging to all pupils and I like to promote a love of maths. Growing confidence towards the subject is so important and this has such a positive impact on results children then gain in exams.
I am a mother of a 2 year old boy with another child on the way, so will be more available for tutoring when on maternity leave!
I specialise in teaching and tutoring for the 11+ exams and also for Common Entrance, but also to promote a love of the subject.
My Experience
I have over 14 years of experience in the following areas:
- Teaching to 11+ exams
- Teaching to Common Entrance exams
- Teaching the curriculum to children in Years 4 - 8
- Promoting a love of maths to children that aren’t as confident with the subject.
- I love teaching lower ability children and to see the progress that they make.
My Qualifications
GCSEs:
4 x A*s (inc maths), 3 x As, 3 x Bs
A levels:
2 x As (inc maths), 1 x B
BA Hons from the University of York, gaining a 2:2 in Philosophy (0.6% off a 2:1!)
iPGCE from the University of Buckingham
QTS gained

I currently only really have availability during the holidays and some weekends but will have more availability from September onwards, particularly online.
