My Summary
About Me
Hi my name is Lily, I have been working in full time childcare for two and a half years and am leaving my current live in position in June. I am looking for a full time live-in nanny or nanny/housekeeper job to start in mid to late June or July. I have loved doing live-in childcare the past few years and loving getting to explore new areas so am open to any area for a position. Out-side of work I love to keep active mainly running and yoga at the moment and i also love reading crafts especially embroidery. I am very lucky to have grown up on a farm as my dad is a shepherd so am comfortable around animals. I look forward to hearing from you!
My Experience
Work experience
Au pair/nanny
April 2023- on going (June 2024)
The position was initially based in central London and I moved with the family to Oxfordshire in September 2023. When I started the position the child I was looking after was just under 1 year old and my weekly tasks consisted of taking the toddler to age appropriate groups and outings to encourage developments, making meal plans and cooking for the toddler and occasionally the whole family it also consisted of ironing and laundry for the whole family and other house work. During my time with the family I went on several holidays with them; a mixture of short and long trips. During these trips my main focus was creating stimulating activities for the children to keep them entertained. The family's second child was born during the Christmas season and I have assisted with changing bath times and general care with him and really enjoyed it, regularly having sole charge with him in the house and taking him on walks ect while mum was out and being in charge of feeding and nap timings. I have also done overnights ect with the toddler while the mum was recovering from a c section. I really enjoy the position with this family and it definitely showed me that I want to start with younger children to hopefully be able to stay longer.
Duties:
Healthy and balanced meal plans and cooking
Laundry and sorting
Ironing
Schedule organisation
Age appropriate activities to encourage fine motor development
Daily outings and walks
General housekeeping
Feeding and nap schedule
Au pair/nanny
November 2021- February 2023
I started in November 2021. At the end of June I left the position to help my mum move house during this time they hired another nanny, two months later they contacted me to ask if I would return to the family and as I was looking for a new position at the time I moved back at the end of august. Both parents work from home which I have found challenging as it never felt as though I was fully in charge during the work day. While I have been here they have had their second child (March 2022). I worked more during this period with solo care and extended duties. When the younger child was still a newborn I was a full time nanny to the elder child and have experience working as mothers help this included support for the mum and talking the newborn on walks. When I returned to the position the family had made the decision to send the elder to a childminder to socialise him more with other children. My current day to day is focused around the nine month old providing a stimulating routine including trips to the library, different play and sensory groups. Along with this I have become part of a community of other nannies in the area who look after children of a similar change and we regularly go to play cafes and the playground together to help socialise the children. I have a strong bond with the family and the two children and often have dinner and watch films with the parents in the evening. I get on well with both parents and have done babysitting for a few of their friends.
Duties:
-daily trips to playground, play cafe, library and parks
- creating weekly schedules for activities such as sensory classes and baby groups
- Meal preparation of healthy balanced meals
- Overseeing and preparing baby led weaning
- at home activity and supervision
- Housekeeping
- Laundry
AU pair
June-September 2021 (summer position)
When I was still at school I had my first nannying job over the summer. It was a live-in position and I was working with two children (8 years and 21 months) with solo charge during the day and then a few hours during the evening. On occasion when mum would take trips abroad I would be left in charge of the house and the children. My responsibilities included cooking the children their meals and nursery drop off twice weekly. I was also in charge of main housekeeping and cleaning including laundry. I became very close with the family and it was a very good first position due to challenges and the different experiences
Duties:
Preparing meals
activity preparation
trips out
nursery drop off
laundry
Cleaning of the bathroom and kitchen
Cleaner
June-September 2021
