About Me

Hi, I am registered childminder with the Down Lisburn Trust and have been since taking a career break to look after my own children 24 years ago! How time flies! I live about 1 mile from Annahilt village and currently pick up from Annahilt primary, though I'm amenable to doing other pickups too.

I live in a secure detached bungalow well off the road with lots to amuse children both inside and out. The kids and myself have a regular social life outside of the home as well as a varied and fun lifestyle in the home! I currently do homework with all the school aged children in my care and the Friday test is as important to me as to the children's parents!! I love to see them progress and excel and do their best. We have an extensive playroom and a huge array of books and toys for all ages. My own children are a boy of 24 and a girl of 27) one currently a doctor in England and the other in the USA).

We are non-smoking non-drinking household. I am happy to supply names of past and present mums and dads as references as well as my annual inspection report from the Health Trust. My childminding insurance is through Morton Michel which is why I don’t appear on the NICMA list. I have various childminding places available. As a past working mum I like to think of myself as a very fair and flexible childminder who is as accommodating to your needs as I can be. I realise that childcare fees can represent a large proportion of parents' income so I try to be as fair as possible. I charge half rate when the children don't attend and I charge nothing during my own holidays and days off if you have to pay someone else, otherwise I charge half. I can often work bank holidays if required. I believe flexibility is key. I currently do overnight, very early morning, evening, late night and weekends to facilitate parents with these needs.

I am happy to supply everything within the agreed price, e.g. nutritious meals, snacks - basically whatever is needed to make things easiest for you. I can supply or not supply! I am very fond of all the kids I look after and feel that this is reciprocated. We have a lot of fun together as well as more serious times too (homework)!! I believe I have a great relationship with all of the kids (and the parents) in my care.
