About Me
Hi there, looking for someone to join our family as we embark on the next chapter of our childcare journey when our wonderful nanny of nearly 10 years moves on ?.
Boys are 13 and 10. We live in Harpenden, usually in the office 3 days per week, otherwise working from home.
My Requirements
See below for further details, but our requirements are pretty flexible and we're open minded on what might be the 'right' solution going forward, e.g. may require a combination of more than one person. Also open minded on who the 'right' person might be (age, sex, background, NWOC, live in/out etc).
Days/hours: Ideally 2 days pw (flexible which days but ideally Tues-Thurs), shorter hours term time (12-7ish) and longer in school hols (8-7ish) (but can potentially flex things)…
Start date: any time from now and willing to wait for the right person ?
Basic requirement - help after school/in school holidays:
• Making sure homework gets done and school bags packed/ready for next day etc; planning/preparing quality meals; helping with laundry, bed sheet changes etc (boys); keeping house in order etc (but trying to get the boys be more independent and help out more).
• Current nanny does 2-3 school (drive away) pick ups per week so someone with own car and able to continue that would be good. Also good for helping get boys to/from activities in the week and during school holidays.
Looking for someone who's:
• Trustworthy, patient and nurturing. The boys are older now, but we're still looking to leave them in safe and caring hands. Going to be a big change for them so someone who's able to provide emotional support beyond the practical stuff would be great.
• Reliable. Consistency for the boys is key so we need someone who won't let us down on short notice, and someone looking for a longer term commitment would be ideal.
• A good role model, communicator, strong values. Someone who can work in partnership with us, acting as bit of a parent 'extension' would be ideal, but the main thing is to have a good role model around who can support our house rules and family values. Good communication skills are also a bonus for engaging with other parents, teachers, the boys grandparents etc!
• Has good planning and organisational skills. Lot of school admin and other stuff to stay on top of!
Thanks for taking time to read this!
