About Me
We are a family in York, with two boys aged 8 and 10 and we are looking for an experienced SEN nanny to take care of our 8 year old son, who has special educational needs.
Our son has learning difficulties, is autistic and has ADHD, he is currently non-verbal and has no physical mobility needs.
He is a fun loving boy with endless energy, with a smile that will melt your heart.
The role will include all aspects of our son's care needs, to shadow him and replace us as parents, these will include:
Assisting with toileting, helping him to get dressed, helping him to eat his meals tidier. Keeping him safe is a large part of the role, as he is a flight risk, he can also put himself in risky situations in the home, due to not understanding aspects of danger and cause and effect. Some general tidying and cleaning up after him is needed too.
Our son enjoys swimming, being outside playing on his swings in the garden, jumping on his trampoline and going for walks. He loves to use his gym ball and likes going for drives in the car to regulate himself.
We live in a detached home with a large garden, with easy access to York centre. We have a dog who is a support dog, to our other son, the nanny/carer will have no responsibilities for the dogs’ care.
Experience needed for the role:
Minimum 5 years childcare and significant SEN experience working closely with a child with similar needs to our son, as a nanny or carer.
The ideal person will be confident, energetic, kind, self-assured and friendly.
Hours of work will be 9am until 3pm, Monday to Friday in school holidays
