My Summary

My Experience

For the past six years I have been a tutor to all-ages and have experience working with children with disabilities.

I have been a support worker and babysitter for one family (the eldest daughter with Down Syndrome and her younger sister) for the past 12 months, where my roles include full-day care on school holidays + morning and afternoon care during term, driving the girls, tutoring, cooking, cleaning, general life organising (doc appointments, extra-curriculars etc.).

For a few years (2021-22), I worked for a charity that supports junior primary children in the foster care system, where I designed lesson plans, games and activities that assisted with focus, attention and confidence.

I am also the aunt to two beautiful young boys (8 months and 3 years) who I regularly babysit and have done since the youngest was five months.

My Qualifications

I have recently completed a Bachelor Degree in the Humanities and am about to begin a Masters of Philosophy. While I hold no qualifications in childcare, I ensure that I am well educated for my positions in childcare, particularly when working with children with disabilities or with children from trauma-backgrounds. I intend to continue study in Child Welfare following my 12 month Masters. I hold a blue card (Australian Working with Children Check), am trained in First Aid and am willing to obtain a Police Check if needed as well.

My Availability

I will be studying a postgraduate degree so work will need to be structured around that. I imagine mornings and evenings will be my preferred time, however, I have not received scheduling from the university yet. I will be available from the beginning of September.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour

As I am hoping to secure a live-in position, fees will be negotiated. However, for tutoring I charge $50 AUD/ hour (26.59 GBP) and for babysitting I charge $22.50 (11.96 GBP)/ hour/ child. It is an extra $6 (3.19 GBP) per additional child too.
