About Me
Welcome to Charlie's House!
A term time only Childminder setting in Shoreham-by-sea, West Susse, providing care on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8-4.
I am a 34 year old mum of two with over 11 years childcare experience. I am nurturing, fun and engaging and will offer a mixture of a home from home experience for your children but with the structure and activities they might find in a nursery.
Charlie's House has a wonderful outside space with a shady play area featuring a play house, mud kitchen, sandpit and water table, plus a larger grassy area for slides, play castle, 'car rollercoaster' and lots of space for running around. We have a pear tree and planter for digging and planting activities. Indoors we have a homely and safe space. Everything is all on one level, with a toy area where toys will change and rotate weekly, a dressing up corner and space for tuff tray activities inc, playdough, sensory activities, building, brio, painting, etc.
My Experience
Before having my children I worked for 11 years as a Nanny, in London and Sussex, working with many different families during this time. I absolutely loved my time as a Nanny and have always been passionate about working with children, with a particular focus on the early years (0-5 years). During this time I also worked as bank staff in nurseries and preschools and incorporated the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) into my work as a Nanny, documenting the children's learning in learning journals and photo books, and am looking forward to using this again! I have experience in running arts, craft and drama sessions for children of all ages, which I am keen to incorporate into my new setting.
