About Me
I am a highly empathic, and understanding postgraduate Biomedical Sciences student who has decided to take a break from a daily 9-5 career in order to take a step back, consider what I truly want for a job and to broaden my horizons. Recently, I have spent 5 weeks in Ghana volunteering at local schools teaching education, social skills and sports as well as participating in community support work. I have always had a passion for working with people, and have been complimented frequently on my ability to get along with children. I can provide tutoring services in Maths/Science/Computing. In the realm of personal care/looking after others, I also have over 6 years previous experience in being a personal assistant both to 2 young gentlemen with debilitating diseases as well as to the elderly at a residential home, prior to my degree.
My Experience
This year I have spent 5 weeks volunteering in Ghana with children ranging from age 5-16, teaching academic lessons, social skills and sports. I have acquired a leadership internship as part of a broader teaching/community support initiative.
I also have experience working with 2 younger gentleman who both had debilitating diseases (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy), aged 15 and 17 respectively when I first started. This continued for around 7 years in between my studies.
