About Me
I am a 54 year old mother, a qualified social worker, with over 25 years experience. I am now looking for a career change. In my younger days I worked as a nanny, for two families each for substantial periods of time. The right childcare is something that I feel passionate about. I love engaging with children and viewing the wonders of the world through their eyes. I love being out doors, in all weather's. I enjoy walking, swimming, cycling, baking and crafts. I feel it is so important for families to feel supported, with all the stresses and strains of modern day living, in the raising of their children.
My Experience
I worked as a nanny for two families in 1990's. These were both for substantial periods of time and with children during different developmental stages. I built and sustained very positive relationships with both the children and their parents. I have worked for the last 25 years in social work related fields with children and young people of various ages. Most recently working, from instruction of individual children, to ensure their voice is heard in decision making processes involving them. I also regularly babysit for my friends 4 children. I have been very involved with The Hereford Steiner school, during my son's time there. I would volunteer to listen children read, drive the mini bus on children' s outings along with supporting class teachers on trips. I have been a chaperone with children who are involved with local theatre groups.
My Qualifications
Diploma in Social Work.
Safeguarding Children trained.
Level 3 counselling skills.
My Availability
I am looking for part time work to allow me to spend more time with my ageing parents.
