Hello, my name is Leanne and am 31 years old. I enjoy reading lots of books and having cuddles with my little dogs. I love to bake in my spare time or practice my sewing on my sewing machine which I have recently started to learn.
I currently work as a nursery practitioner where I create a safe engaging environment for the little ones in my care to develop and feel safe in.
Being a nursery practitioner means I take on many roles throughout the day.
I can be a musical nursery rhyme jukebox, a dinosaur roaring in the jungle, playdough maker, a story teller, or pain soother when my little one bump their knees.
My roles brings me such joy and I hope to bring joy to the little one in my care.
My Experience
My journey starts with me training in counselling which took me to work in health and social care, which I had done for 5 years. However It has always been my dream to work with children, so more than two years ago I started a new journey by getting a position in my first nursery, and started my training for me level 2 in early years. I worked at this nursery for 9 months and then carried on to my second nursery where I have been at for 14 months and am currently still working there.
During my time at these nurseries I have learned how best to support the children in my care with their development and making sure every day is exciting and fun. As a key worker to my children I understand the importance of working in partnership with the parents to help reassure them their little ones are safe in my care.
My Qualifications
I have a level 2 diploma in early years and childcare.
I have my first aid.
I am on the update service for my DBS.
My Availability
I am looking for a part time position. ideally 3 permanent days a week. These 3 days can be any days of the week. 24 hours to 30 hours (can do a few extra depending on arrangement). The hours can be spread over an extra day if needed (negotiable). I can also do the occasional babysitting arranged in advance ?.
