Are you looking for an exciting opportunity outside of the classroom?
We are looking for a learning mentor for our son in the Orpington area who has a bespoke package of Education Other Than In School ( EOTIS) . You will be working both in the family home and across the wider community to facilitate various provisions. This is not a formal tutoring role but requires flexibility and will facilitate learning through his special interests such as gaming and animals.
As part of this role, you will be working on a one-to-one basis. supporting him to access a range of indoor and outdoor activities and develop daily living skills. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a package of provision which meets the outcomes of his EHCP, so strong communication and organisation skills are a must. This role will also require you to attend half termly MDT meetings and write reports for those meetings.

Must be calm and flexible, with a positive and friendly demeanor
Must be willing to learn and comfortable with engaging in learning which is child-led and informal.
Must have experience and confidence in supporting neurodivergent young people, particularly those with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)
Must have a car that can be used as part of the role (mileage will be paid to facilitate travelling to and from his weekly provisions)
Must be confident and active and able to join the young person in sensory activities such as climbing, trampolining, biking, scootering
Must have experience working with young people who have barriers to education and social situations
Ideal to have experience and confidence in supporting young people with anxiety
Ideal to have experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team, reporting to teachers /package coordinators through written and verbal mediums
This role is part time and would need to be someone who is self-employed or happy to register as such
Expected hours: No more than 15 per week. Working towards 3 hour sessions at a time.
Schedule:
Day shifts
Monday to Friday ( dates to be agreed termly) ( mornings between 09:30-12:30)
No weekends or school holidays
Some flexibility required to cater for 5 educational trips per academic year

Working with ASD primary aged children : required

drivers licence (required)
Work Location: In person ( Orpington) . This would suit someone local to surrounding areas
