About Me

Hi, thank you for visiting my profile!
My name is Helena, I am 24 and originally from Germany.
I am a bubbly, creative and enthusiastic person with a passion for nurturing children’s self-confidence and fostering a love for the environment.
As an aspiring play therapist, I am dedicated to ensuring children’s happiness and safety at all times.

I am in the final stages of completing a Master’s in the Foundations of Clinical Psychology, building on my Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology.
For anyone that has an interest in Psychology; my approach to childcare is very much influenced by Frobelian and child-centred principles focusing on meaningful play and the holistic development of children.

My primary experience lies with early years (2-5), but I also have experience working with school-aged children and those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). I am skilled in supporting children with challenging behaviours and creating an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

I do not drive, but I can use public transport and happy to do nursery/ school pick- ups that way.

My approach:
I love planning fun and enriching activities that promote children’s fine and gross motor skills, as well as their physical, social and emotional development. Whether it’s a trip to the park or beach, engaging in arts and crafts, or exploring imaginative play. I enjoy tailoring activities to each child’s interest.
- Creative play: painting using natural paints by mixing water and turmeric or spirulina powder, multi-media collages using recycled materials, cooking and baking (real and pretend)
- Story time: cosying up with a nice book and exploring new stories
- Environmental learning: activities and outdoor trips that foster a love for nature and understanding of our environment

I nurture children’s sense of community, encouraging them to care for others and themselves. Environmental responsibility is key, as I encourage respect for nature and promote sustainable habits such as looking after resources and thinking about how we can reduce, reuse and recycle.

Why choose me:
Choosing me as your nanny meaning opting for a professional who is experienced with children and passionate about child development. I aim to create a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment where your child/ren can thrive.
If you are looking for a dedicated, creative and loving part-time nanny, I would love to hear from you. Let’s work together to support your child/ren’s growth, happiness and understanding of the world.

My Experience

Current Position: Part-time nursery educator at a sustainable nursery in Hove
Previous Positions: Experience working as a healthcare assistant with SEN children, babysitting, and leading tutoring clubs to support younger children with schoolwork.

My Qualifications

Future Studies: Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills
Current Studies: Master’s in the Clinical Psychology
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology with Honours (Upper Second-Class)
Background Check: Enhanced DBS
First Aid: Certificate in Paediatric First Aid
Food: Food Hygiene Qualification
Workplace: Ofsted-rated ‘Excellent’ nursery
Various other courses for professional and academic development.

My Availability

Ideally, I am looking for part-time nanny/ babysitting work on Thursdays and Fridays, with flexibility for pre-discussed mornings and evening from Monday to Wednesday. I am also open to occasional weekend work.
I am enthusiastic about finding a consistent, long-term position to build a strong rapport with the children and parents.
But I am equally as happy to do accommodate short-term needs and adapt to different schedules.
