My Summary
About Me
I am a dual South African / British national with homes in both countries. While I'm based in SW London I am willing to travel anywhere within the UK.
I’m a calm, kind and level headed Maternity Nurse / Newborn Care Specialist who is able to exercise good judgment. I'm warm and empathetic in my approach when caring for both newborns and new parents.
I believe it's a privilege to be invited into someone's home and entrusted to care for a child. It's a level of trust that I value and take very seriously. I'm extremely reliable, trustworthy, with a positive outlook and a good sense of humour.
Peace of mind and a good nights sleep is often all a new parent needs. It's important that each family unit finds its own unique rhythm. My role as a Maternity Nurse / Newborn Care Specialist is that of a guide; to build confidence in new parents and establish healthy patterns with their newborn.
I have my own children; two boys aged 10 and 8. I've known my husband for almost 18yrs and our home is ruled by our two rescue cats; Oreo (F) and Russel (M).
My Experience
I've worked at a well established play-school on an ad-hoc basis since 2014, caring for children from 0-4yrs old, ensuring their days are filled with consistency, fun, plenty of play, warmth, kindness and love.
Since early 2024 I've pursued my studies to become a Maternity Nurse / Newborn Care Specialist, as I have an affinity to newborns. I faced my own medical challenges with delivering both my boys, which has enabled me to be very open and forthcoming about my experiences when it comes to supporting new parents.
I'm also a weekly volunteer in the Library at my boys school.
My Qualifications
Postnatal Carer (MNT) NQF Level 3
Paediatric First Aid & CPR (12hrs)
My Availability
I'd prefer short-term contracts, minimum 2 weeks up to a maximum of 6 weeks. However consideration can be given to longer contracts.
