About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder and provide high quality childcare in my home under the name 'Birkenshaw Blossoms Childcare'.
I live in Birkenshaw with my husband, my two children, who are aged 7 and 11, and our cat, Tilly.
We have a beautiful, welcoming home with lots of wonderful educational and play resources for all ages of children. We have a lovely, spacious garden which we enjoy spending time in as much as we can.
I am very excited to begin my new venture and I am very much looking forward to planning exciting, stimulating and fun learning experiences for the children in my care.
My Experience
Having worked as a Primary School Teacher for the past 14 years, I have a wealth of experience of working with children from the ages of 3 to 11. I have a BA Honours teaching degree in Early Years and this has provided me with an excellent understanding of the EYFS curriculum. In addition to this, I am a qualified Nursery Nurse with a Diploma in early years and I have had experience of working in childcare settings with newborn babies up to pre-school.
I am passionate about planning and implementing fun and enjoyable learning experiences for the children in my care to support their development. I am excited to be able to use the range of experiences and knowledge I have in my new home childcare venture.

My Availability
As of May 2025, I am currently at full capacity for early years children, with the potential of a space opening up from September 2026.
From September 2025, I am full for wraparound care.
Limited spaces are available for school holiday care.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
Full day childcare from 7.30am - 5.30pm £60 a day. All nutritious, home cooked meals and snacks provided.
School holidays - requirements to be discussed according to availability.

Birkenshaw Blossoms Childcare is absolutely fantastic and I recommend Amy highly.
Amy currently supports with wrap around care with my 3 soon to be 4 year old and I would be lost without her. My little boy has an amazing time with Amy, doing activities and playing with his friends. Amy really listens and offers a tailored service which has made me feel at ease whilst I am working.
I would highly recommend Amy at Birkenshaw Blossoms Childcare to everyone.

Amy has been so accommodating from the moment we met. My little boy absolutely loved meeting her and exploring her lovely home and all of the resources she has. He instantly felt comfortable with Amy, and the way she interacted with him made it so easy for me to place my 9 month old in her care. The communication has been amazing. I’m excited for my boy to start properly with Amy in the coming weeks and the fun and learning I know he is going to have. She has definitely made the daunting experience of placing your child with a childminder so much easier. Thank you
