About Me
A little introduction from me:
Hello everyone! My name is Caitlin (aka ‘The Somerset Nanny’), and I am an Early Years specialist, holding a Bachelors in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher status. I offer independent, specialised childcare to families across the South West; adapting my work to suit the needs of the children and parents. I have a huge passion for Early Years Practice, with the desire to support and shape the growth and development of our future generations. I have a love for all things creative; music, art, cooking and outdoor adventures. This is something that I strive to reflect in my work as I believe the best learning starts with an enthusiatic role model.
I predominantly follow the principles of Montessori learning, with emphasis on a ‘child-led’ activity, and differentiating to foster the needs of the child and their interests. My working ethos is to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment which sparks intellectual curiosity, creativity and independence. I have conducted a research project on the importance of outdoor learning in adolescence, to discover huge benefits in Mental Health, Motor Skill development and Language progression. Consequently, I have acquired the belief that it is important to get out in all weathers, so a puddlesuit and wellies is essential when working with me!????
My duties as a Nanny are flexible and dependent on your requirements but providing the best quality care for your child is at the forefront. Additionally, on a day-to-day basis I am able to help with a variety of other specific household duties including washing, cleaning, pet care and food prep. I am a very organised individual, so I will always ensure a tidy home at the end of each day...even after a busy ‘Day of Play.’
Please note that I currently have limited availability, as I am already working with multiple families, but will always try my best to accommodate to you.
My hourly rate is dependent on the amount of children I am Nannying for, but as this is private childcare, government funded hours are not applicable. Sorry!
Nanny sharing (with one other family only) is accepted.
