My Experience

I hold A levels in Physical Education, Performing Arts, and English Literature, and I recently completed my Bachelor´s degree in Early Childhood which I will be graduating with a first-class Honours. My academic journey has been enriched by a deep focus on children’s wellbeing, a subject I am particularly passionate about. Throughout my studies, I have embraced modules that explore various aspects of children´s development and mental health, further solidifying my desire to contribute to this field.
My short-term goal is to continue working directly with children, where I can leverage my skills and experiences to foster a positive and nurturing environment. Looking ahead, I am open to pursuing further education, such as a master´s in child psychology or specialised courses in child therapy and counselling. An aim of mine would be to work in child wellbeing, ensuring that every child has the support and resources they need to thrive.
I have accumulated three years of diverse placement experience as part of my degree program. In my first year, I worked at a nursery in the city centre of Bristol, where I developed foundational skills in early childhood education. During my second year, I did my placement for a charity, building a garden for the nursery and conducting food sessions with children, which taught me the importance of holistic development and community involvement. In my third year, I chose to do my placement in a Year 2 class at a primary school, which taught me to develop and implement lesson plans, manage classroom dynamics, and build strong, supportive relationships with young students. Throughout my journey working with children, I have also completed safeguarding, child protection, and first aid courses. These courses have equipped me with crucial skills and knowledge that are vital for ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in my care.
Beyond my degree placements, I have been actively involved in working with children since I was 16, including various roles in schools for both placement and work experience. Additionally, my experience in retail has equipped me with valuable interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in dynamic environments. Most recently, I worked at an after-school club during my final year at university, where I took on significant responsibilities and established meaningful connections with the children. Through my dedication and effort, I have been told that I am a valued part of the team, which has been an immensely rewarding experience.
My personal qualities complement my professional experiences. I am known for my bubbly personality and excellent time management skills, which enable me to balance multiple responsibilities effectively. I thrive in team settings, bringing enthusiasm and collaboration to every project. My ability to connect with children and create a supportive and engaging atmosphere is one of my greatest strengths.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Play worker | Henrys after school club, Horfield Primary School, Bristol Oct 2024 to Jul 2024
As a playworker, my core function was to facilitate and supervise various activities aimed at promoting children´s social, emotional, and physical development during after-school hours. I ensured a safe and supportive environment where children could engage in creative play, sports, and educational games, fostering their growth and well-being.
• My primary responsibilities included planning and supervising a range of activities that promoted social, emotional, and physical development. I facilitated creative play, sports, and educational games, ensuring that each child had the opportunity to participate and thrive.
• In this role, I managed groups of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. I was responsible for setting up and tidying away play equipment and materials, maintaining a clean and organised play space. I also built strong, positive relationships with the children, gaining their trust and encouraging positive behavior.
• Additionally, I communicated effectively with parents and caregivers, providing feedback on their child´s activities and development. My ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other staff members was crucial in creating a cohesive and supportive environment.
• Through my role as a playworker, I developed excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as the ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of children. This experience reinforced my passion for working with children and my commitment to their overall well-being and development.

Sales assistant | Lovisa, Bristol Cribbs Causeway and Bristol Cabot circus May 2021 to Sep 2024
Lovisa was created out of a need for on-trend fashion jewellery at ready-to-wear prices. A global fashion-forward jewellery brand that caters to everyone, with 150 new styles being delivered to stores each week.
• As a sales assistant at Lovisa, a high-energy, fashion-forward, and customer-focused retail store, I was responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences. My role involved assisting customers in styling their looks with confidence and enthusiasm. I ensured the store was well-maintained by replenishing stock and keeping displays perfectly organized. I also took part in piercing services after receiving specialized training. Additionally, I assisted in opening and closing the store, often taking on full responsibility when the manager was away. I held keys for both stores in Bristol, demonstrating trust and reliability.
• This position required me to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, work effectively within a team to achieve great results, and provide outstanding communication and customer service. My time at Lovisa allowed for personal career growth and development within a global business, giving me skills I have continued to use.
Sales Assistant | The Range Jun 2016 to Jan 2021
A retail assistant at The Range which is a large retail store known for its extensive range of products from homeware to garden supplies.
• In addition to my experience working with children, I have gained valuable skills as a retail assistant. In this role, I assisted customers with inquiries, provided product information, and ensured a positive shopping experience, which honed my communication skills. I processed transactions accurately and efficiently, handled cash, and managed the point-of-sale system. My responsibilities also included restocking shelves, organizing displays, and conducting inventory checks, all of which emphasized attention to detail. Working with colleagues to meet sales targets, assist with promotions, and maintain a clean store environment enhanced my teamwork skills. Additionally, I addressed and resolved customer complaints professionally, teaching me to think on my feet and find effective solutions. This role developed my work ethic, time management, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, all of which are transferable to my work with children.
