About Me
Hi! I'm Bobby, a qualified Early Years Teacher with over 10 years of leadership in Nursery Schools in and around St Albans. I work alongside my wife, Olivia Federici who is a former athlete who represented Great Britain in Synchronised Swimming, participating in three Olympic Games. Our childminding setting is known as Kinderling.
Based in the beautiful village of Wheathampstead, our child centered setting offers children a safe and nurturing haven to discover themselves and the world around them.
We offer children and their families the very best in early years educare. Our environment, activities and experiences are designed to encourage and inspire children's innate curiosity and creativity. Our experienced team is passionate about helping each child feel loved and cared for so they are free to live their full potential.
We are a small artisanal community that places the utmost importance on creating authentic, meaningful connections with our children and their families. We balance a routine and rhythm to each day with freedom and choice. There is a healthy mix of child initiated play and exploration and adult supported offerings to give children a childhood to cherish. At the heart of our approach is the belief that children are whole people, trusted and capable learners, competent in the mastery of their actions, explorations and above all play.
My Experience
Early Years educare has been part of my life since I was a young child. I grew up above my parent's nursery school, Mount Carmel Kindergarten in St Albans, and joined the family business in 2014. Since then I have supported hundreds of children and their families, as well as training staff in best practice.
Respect is the foundation of my Early Years practice. I recognise the importance of trusting that children are capable learners, and balance the need of supporting them with that whilst allowing them to learn through their experiences. Above all I want childhood to be fun and free.
As a Father of 3 children, I have a personal understanding of the pressure that parents are under. I love supporting people on their parenting journey by empowering them with the knowledge, confidence and skills to succeed at home.
Following Olivia's retirement from competitive sport, she chose a new path dedicated to supporting children and their families. She worked as a Teaching Assistant, Childminder Assisant, Nanny, and coach within her sport, which has provided her with a unique perspective on the needs and aspirations of children at different stages of their development.

My Availability
Children can join Kinderling aged two years and above. The setting is open 38 weeks per year (term time) and we run ad hoc holiday clubs available to parents wanting wrap around care.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.55 per hour
Our sessions run from 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. The session includes two home cooked meals at lunch and tea, as well as snacks.
Fees are invoiced monthly and calculated based on 38 weeks of term divided by 11 months (September - July). Holiday club sessions are invoiced separately at the ad hoc session rate.
Fees for 2 year olds with funding (Childcare Support for 2 year olds - Working families):

3 days = £492.27 per month
4 days = £785.91 per month
5 days = £1079.54 per month
Fees for 2 year olds without funding:
2 days = £587.27 per month
3 days = £880.91 per month
4 days = £1174.54 per month
5 days = £1168.18 per month
Fees for 3 & 4 year olds with 15 hours funding (Childcare Support for 3 and 4 year olds - All families):
2 days = £302.27 per month
3 days = £492.27 per month
4 days = £785.91 per month
5 days = £1183.18 per month
Fees for 3 & 4 year olds with 30 hours funding (Childcare Support for 3 and 4 year olds - Working families):
2 days = £283.27 per month

1 day = £236.64 per month
