My Requirements
Hello. My names Leonie and I’m a 23 year old mum of two who is currently studying midwifery full time.
Due to the nature of my degree I rotate between theory blocks at university and then clinical placement blocks working at the hospital or in the community. My clinical blocks range between 4-8 weeks long and these are the periods in which I need in home nanny care for my two children between the hours of 5/5:30-9:15/9:30pm 3 to a max of 4x a week and will include giving them their evening dinner, bathing them and putting them to bed. I have the dates of my clinical blocks for the entirety of the 2025 academic year allowing for organisation. My off duty is released to me 3 weeks in advance from the start of the clinical placement also.
It is a necessity that our nanny is registered with OFSTED or is willing to become registered as payments will have to be done through the government childcare payment scheme in order for me to use the funding I have Available through student finance.
My little girl is called Opal and she is three with a huge personality. She loves role playing with her dolls, arts and crafts, singing and dancing and has a huge love for teddys and blankets. She has eczema which does needs moisturising after bathing but is overall a lovely, affectionate little girl.
My eldest son is called Jonah and he is 6. Jonah has autism and is semi-verbal. He can verbally communicate most of his needs and share his interests with you in the same way but his communication is restricted and he can become frustrated when he feels he can’t communicate his needs to you. Jonah is extroverted and sensory seeks allot. Due to this he does need close care as his sensory seeking behaviours can be destructive to his environment for example picking threads from the carpet, emptying containers, chewing clothes and cushions. He has aids like chew buddies to remedy his chewing which I redirect him to when I see him trying to chew, allot of our doors are locked at the top as he will empty food items like pasta and flour if given free access to the kitchen. He needs support when eating as he will try to take food into the front room and needs support in staying seated during means also. Jonah is still in nappies as he isn’t ready for toilet training yet. Jonah is a very loving, affectionate child but needs a very understanding, patient and caring nanny to support him in the ways he needs.
Someone with experience in SEN children would be ideal but it is not necessary as Jonah is relatively high functioning and emotionally stable however he is very high energy and would need someone confident in caring for children.
Due to where we live in glossop someone with access to a car would be ideal due to the weather when it snows effecting public transport however our home is only about a 15-20 walk from the train station.
We would love to have someone with us long-term over the next three years. X
