My Summary
About Me
Hi!
I’m a fourth year medical student at the University of Leeds. I also have a BSc in Biomedical Science from St George’s University of London and an MSc in Molecular Medicine from Imperial College London, so I’m quite a science nerd :)
I tutor GCSE and A-level Biology and GCSE Chemistry and Maths.
Having studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths in school, I understand the difficulty in grasping new and challenging content. I believe that with the right structure and guidance, anyone can learn and confidently apply new knowledge to both exams and life in general. I am passionate about teaching and an advocate for fun and engaging learning, which I will offer you. Learning shouldn’t be a distasteful chore!
I create a space for openness and transparency and therefore, encourage questions at every point. Whether it be a question to help clarify a topic or simply out of curiosity, there’s no such thing as a “silly” question. Through questioning we understand deeper.
My method of teaching is firstly, to have a fundamental understanding of the topic and secondly, to use active recall and spaced repetition to consolidate your learning. As an avid story teller myself, I also use fictional and non-fictional anecdote to aid in visualising and comprehend concepts in a more relatable manner.
I’m here to help you!
My Experience
I have 4 years experience teaching Biology, Chemistry and Maths to KS3, GCSE and A-level students. I work collaboratively with students and their parents to ensure that each students academic needs are established in the first meeting.
I offer an initial assessment to determine where your child's baseline is at and develop lesson plans that are tailored to their level, learning style and subsequently build up from that. I also assess students progress throughout using measurable outcomes and adapting teaching styles accordingly.
I always aim to make my teaching space both a safe and supportive environment to ensure that your child feels at ease and is able to learn freely and without judgement.
