My name is Saffron and I live with my husband, our two children and two guinea pigs in Northwood, Isle of Wight. I have a dedicated playroom and a quiet area for the children to use, in addition to a large secure garden. I love to see children grow and thrive, and to help with their growth I enjoy getting out and about, we go to toddler groups, rhyme time and story time at the library as well as being outdoors in the forest, at the park or down at the beach enjoying and exploring nature. When in the setting we do baking, messy play, crafts and garden activities including sand, mud play and water play, plus I have some small play equipment and scooters/bikes. Each day is different and led by the interests of the child.
My Experience
In addition to bringing up my own children, I have now been childminding for 7 months, and this includes holiday and after school care for children with additional needs. Prior to this I voluntarily ran a parent and toddler group, interacting with both parents and children and providing craft activities. In addition, I have run a Girlguiding Rainbow group for many years providing, games and activities to challenge the girls, ages 5 to 7 years, within their abilities.

Our little boy has been going to Saffron for a while now and he absolutely loves it there. Saffron helped with my adjustment to him attending as well as his. Saffron has a kind, caring, calm, patient nature and lovely setting. They do a variety of activities and get out and about in the community and we love to see the photos of the fun they have together. I would definitely recommend any child going to Saffron. We are lucky to have found her!

Saffron takes care of our little boy every week, and he absolutely loves his time with her. He enjoys doing lots of different activities during his time there and always comes home happy. Saffron is thorough and has a lovely homely setting. We are lucky to have found such a fab childminder. Would highly recommend Saffron to anyone looking for childcare for there young children.

My daughter is suspected autistic and non-verbal. She was with Saffron during the October half term and the Christmas half term, and she was wonderful with them. She always came home happy and went running in every morning, she knew exactly where she was and would go straight up to the front door. If my daughter doesn’t want to do something or go somewhere she won’t, so for her to go in each day without bother I think speaks loads! Saffron always came across as calm and patient, and my daughter took an immediate liking to her. I would highly recommend Saffron to any parent with a child with additional needs, as she always takes my daughters needs into consideration.
