About Me
Hi! I am Sophie, I am 31 and have currently relocated back to Gloucester from London, as I wanted to live near my family and also undertake a career change. While in London I have worked in the charity sector across a wide-range of issues including with children with disabilities and mental health services.
I have a niece and nephew who are my joy and having been told repeatedly by friends, family members and colleagues that I would be a great nanny I have decided now to explore this role. I enjoy reading, painting and drawing, and pottery. I love going on walks and bike rides and exploring the area, particularly as we are so fortunate to be so close to the Cotswolds here in Gloucester.
I have a clean driving license and also have an enhanced DBS check.
My Experience
I have been taking care of children basically my entire life. Helping from a young age with younger siblings and cousins. More recently I have helped two families with childcare, both with two children in each home, all from the newborn stage! I have experience with feeding, nappy changing, bath time and putting the children down to sleep. It is my passion to work with and care for children and I am now exploring this as a career change as I am happiest when working with children. I am currently working to register with Ofsted and complete a children's first aid course.
My Qualifications
I have a first class degree in Psychology, and have also undertaken first responder, safeguarding and critical incident training. I volunteered with a rape crisis helpline for three years and have supported girls as young as 13 through some very tough experiences.
