About Me
Hi, I am an artist/illustrator, known best for my work with fashion designer Bethany Williams London, and the Rebel Folklore book published by DK. I adore art and other interests include mythology, psychology, history, cooking, sociology, anthropology, nutrition and keeping fit: living a good life full of love and kindness. As I was making my name as an artist, I always had a job to support myself. I have mostly worked in retail, hospitality and child care, but have ventured into engineering as well. I was born in China to a Chinese mum and British father, we moved to England when I was 7 and had a couple of au pairs throughout our time, so I know how influential they can be and therefore the responsibility that comes with the role. I am well travelled and love working with children, I haven’t ever desired them myself but I enjoy the role of aunt or big sis!
My Experience
I was a live-out nanny for twins from the age of 10-11 years old from 2010-2011, I helped coach them through the 11+ tests, which both of them passed. I also went to Bali with the family a couple of times as their nanny. In 2014 I was a live in nanny to a 13 year old girl at Cheltenham girls school. My roles were always to get the kids ready for school, make breakfast, during summer holidays I would arrange activities for them and myself, coaching through homework, making lunch and dinner, supervising play dates, driving them to clubs etc and sometimes a bit of housework including laundry.
I have also ran art workshops for parents and children (under the age of 5) for the Magpie Project, a grassroots charity based in Newham, London.
In addition to this I ran painting workshops for youth (age 13-16) at The Bethlem Center, London.
My Qualifications
11 GCSE grade B-A*, 3 A levels (A, A, C), Foundation diploma in art and Design (distinction), BA(Hons) illustration & animation (first degree)
My Availability
I am very flexible. I’m looking to relocate out of London’s rat race so I can potentially be available full time.
