My Experience

I have worked in the childcare field for over 40 years. Initially as a Residential Nanny/PA with 2 year old twins and a 16 year old with severe additional needs, before being employed by the local council in a Day Nursery in a deprived area of Bristol with under 5's.
Most of my work has been as a Registered Childminder with children 0-12 yrs.( over 36 yrs) Providing individual bespoke packages of care and learning within a 'family' type environment in collabaration with parents. I have worked alongside my husband, who retrained as a DCE qualified nursery practitioner, in facilitating school runs, school holiday trips, visits and activities, afterschool homework support swimming and riding lessons, etc. for school aged children. I engage younger children in unique individually adapted daily activities and learning opportunities and achieved an Outstanding Ofsted grade in my last two inspections as a Childminder.I love providing healthy meals and am happy to cook / prepare a wide variety of foods or batch cook and enjoy baking. Happy to clean/ change beds/ washing and ironing if children are at school/ nursery.
I fostered 4 korean children aged 9-13 while they attended private Day school in Bristol over 4 years, in conjunction with Childminding .The children lived with our family ,joining in all daily activities when not attending school.I Organised all school related matters in the parents absence including support for senior school entrance exams and organising tutors if required alongside teacher liaising .At home I Encouraged self help skills, independent travel confidence using public transport. I organised regular chores to support growing independence, and financial intellegence through use of weekly allowances.
I Have my own 3 children, now left home.
At present I provide overnight care and medical support to an 8 yr old with severe additional needs in addition to childminding with my husband ( until sep 2024 when I will no longer be childminding)
I am experienced in running a large detached home and am responsible for shopping, menu planning, cooking cleaning, organising household repairs and larger projects.Happy to arrange flowers and lay fires .I am adaptable, able to use my own initiative and also follow instructions.

Pediatric First Aid
Ofsted Registered and able to accept tax free childcare.. please look on childcare choices on the government website for support in setting up an account.
Unfortunately Nannies are unable to offer free15 /30 hours funding. This can only be accepted by Ofsted registered childminders and nurseries.

My Availability

Daytime and evenings as required.
Prefer part time daily but may consider full time or live in proxy parenting on a temporary basis or in an emergency.

• Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
• Nannying from £20.00 per hour (gross)

£20 an hour
