About Me
My name is Joanne Bauchop and i am married to my husband Iain.
I live in the Westburn area of Cambuslang.
I grew up in a childminding home which installed a passion in me for childcare. After gaining 4 years hands on experience as my mothers assistant i decided to embark on my own childminding journey. I became a registered childminder early 2024 and thoroughly enjoy my role. I find it incredibly rewarding caring for children.
Being a driver i can offer children a variety of outings including soft plays, Toddler groups, parks, library, shopping, visits to Farms/Woods etc.
I enjoy gardening and cultivate a range of flowers, herbs and vegetables. children are welcome to participate in the growing of their own food, learning about the process from seed to plate.
My approach emphasises child-led play, encouraging imagination and creativity. we engage in various activities such as Arts & crafts, themed play (space, pirates, under the sea) and plenty of outdoor exploration.
My Experience
Registered Childminder, Childminder Aid (4 years), Daughter of a childminder of 21 years.
I have successfully cared for children of 8 weeks-16 years old. Each child has unique needs and iv had the privilege to build relationships with many families. I have seen children in my care go from 6 months to nursery and now moving on to primary. I have had the pleasure of caring for siblings from infancy to high school.
I'm excited to create a warm and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
My Qualifications
I hold an SVQ 3 (Social services, children & young people). I am committed to ongoing professional development regularly attend training courses in person and online.
Recent training include paediatric first aid, Food Hygiene, Child protection, Autism awareness.
I am also in the process of applying to become a funded provider with SLC.
