My Summary
About Me
My name is Simone, a second-year student at the University of Edinburgh. As a fun-loving individual who keeps an active lifestyle, I have a wide array of interests and hobbies that keep me engaged in Edinburgh. I have been contributing to the university newspaper, playing competitive tennis, rock climbing, and running. I also have been enjoying all that the city has to offer from the farmers markets to its art galleries. Violin has been a significant part of my life since I was four. I currently play for the university orchestra. My family’s guitar business in California has influenced my musical inclination. Academically, I am pursuing my masters in French and international relations, which aligns with my future career aspirations. I intend to pursue work in the state department, aspiring to work for an ambassador.
My Experience
As the eldest in my own family, I have always enjoyed the company of children and their vibrant energy. I realized just how much I missed that energy after spending the holiday break with my five-year-old cousin Cora and her seven-month-old brother — caring for them before and after my internship work in Washington DC. Back home (in the United States), I have frequently taken on babysitting jobs and have been a Girl Scout throughout high school and primary school, participating in programs to care for and entertain younger girls.
My experience extends to looking after faculty kids while I attended boarding school, tutoring and playing with them often when their parents were working or away. I was selected for prefect duty, where I was responsible for supporting five younger students adjusting to life away from home.
My Qualifications
I am a very good cook! I have learned delicious recipes that maintain my healthy lifestyle, having grown up providing dinner for my family and having chosen a self-catered accommodation at university – regularly hosting group dinners. I hope to be able to share this love of mine with you and your child.
Having already settled in Edinburgh, I am comfortable in the city (a city I love)! After a wonderful first year, I am already looking forward to returning this fall and I look forward to introducing this new and unique dimension to my university experience.
My extensive resume demonstrates my reliable nature, strong organizational skills, and optimistic attitude. I am an adaptable team player and eager student who is ready to contribute to and grow from new experiences.
I am very happy to provide references and my resume should they interest you.
My Availability
I am flexible and can easily work around your schedule. I am happy to share my university timetable with you. With plenty of free time built into my schedule, I am confident that I can dedicate the hours you need.
