My Summary
About Me
I believe finding the right approach, the one that makes things click, is the key to teaching and remembering! For me, this is making lessons as interactive as possible, scoping out the child to present the right kind of context; concepts become memorable and pretty much everything can be made interesting.
My Experience
I last tutored formally at university; for other students - Degree level Physics, Maths, Electronics and Programming (C & Python); for GCSE students - Geography, Spanish, Maths and Biology; and for pre-GCSE English, Maths and Sciences.
I have since graduated (First class Bachelors in Electronic Engineering) and worked as a software engineer. As a Senior I ended up teaching other employees how to code too.
Prior to the above, I taught basic bicycle mechanics to women through a local charity.
I also taught English as a Second Language in India for an entire school year (though this was years ago).
My Qualifications
I have a First class degree in Electronic Engineering (with Foundation) from the University of York.
I also have a Higher Certificate of Education in Psychology from the University of York.
I studied Biology, Geography, Psychology, Philosophy of Religion and BSL at A-Level. Passed BSL, attained an A* in Psychology and an A in all other subjects.
At GCSE I studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Food Technology, Art, Business Communication Studies, Spanish, Geography.
I have professional certifications in Computer Science, Full-Stack Development, SQL among others.
My Availability
I have a relatively flexible schedule, but would appreciate 1-2 weeks notice - I was on a career break for caregiving purposes but am doing a Cybersecurity course on Wednesdays & Thursdays 9am-2:30pm.
I'm open to virtual study overnight if absolutely necessary.
