My Summary

My Experience

I am confident that I can transfer my knowledge effectively to the students and build interest in them about this subject. I am an experienced Lecturer in Science (FE and HE), who can teach and understand any or all disciplines (Biology and Chemistry), to contribute to the teaching and development of these subjects. I have already taught on AS/A2, BTEC and Higher Education courses. I am also experienced in tutoring, assessing, recording, and tracking students on different courses. I already thought EDS (University of Hertfordshire) with high rate of pass (87 percent) and I was able to manage 300 students and their progression to Mpharm in University of Herts. I also can provide timely, accurate and relevant management information as required. I also taught general chemistry to 5 groups of undergraduate students who were participating in the 46th International Chemistry Olympiad in Zurich. Each group of students contains 5-7 students. I have been provided the notes and lecturing material of general as well as organic chemistry topics. In every topic, I explained all the fundamental concepts to the students in a simple and clear way, and students were allowed that they can ask me questions whenever they feel confused about the understanding of any point. At the end of every lecture of one hour, there were exercises for students containing subjective and objective type questions that students must solve in 30 minutes. These exercises helped students to prepare quizzes for Chemistry Olympiad with clear answers. These sessions were for two weeks, but this experience of teaching was interesting. Due to a small group of members, it was easy to provide feedback to students and made corrections in their understanding of each topic.

My Qualifications

During my postdoctoral stay at the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), I have performed my duties as a teaching assistant. I was responsible to organise classes of Master-leading- PhD students in Physical organic chemistry. Main duties contained set timetable and booked rooms for lecturing in order to avoid overlapping with other academic staff, preparing set problems/exercises for every lecture, providing assignments copies to the students with return dates, collecting assignments on time than marking and providing feedback to the students with a solution of problems. Finally, informed the department’s main office about the grading of every student. Additionally, as a teaching assistant, I was also part of the committee that conducted the final viva of research students in the organic section. These viva are conducted after the final research presentation of Master students. I was also responsible to collect results/grading of viva and submit to the main department office. These additional responsibilities with postdoctoral research were interesting for learning and organising the classes systematically and timely
