About Me
My name is Sonia Simpson, and I live in Wootton Fields in Northampton. I have been a registered childminder with ofstead for over 27 years. I have a husband called George who I have been married to for 31 years and we have one daughter called Michelle who is 29 years old, who regularly babysits for the parents of children I look after. Family pets, we have tortoises and all child friendly.
My Experience
I have been chilminding for over 30 years and love my job. I entered into childminding because I have previous experience in my teen years of being a nanny. I thoroughly enjoyed this role and decided to enter childminding as my career to further my interest in this field. I was blessed with a daughter 29 years ago and this allowed her to socialise with other young children. She has now grown up, nonetheless, my love of childminding still remains, as I continue to childmind.
My Qualifications
Over my 30 years I have achieved many qualifications, such my first aid training, giving me the essential tools to care for a child and how to react effectively in an emergency ,also various other qualifications in the childcare sector.
My Availability
I am available for full and part-time spaces. I work from 7am-7pm Monday to Friday and I am also available for weekend and evening care.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £9.00 per hour
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
My fees vary depending on different circumstances, such as week days, evening or weekend rates. Also, if there is more than one child one family then my rates become cheaper per child to make childcare more affordable. Any questions, please do not hesitate to call. Look forward to meeting with you.

Sonia has been minding our children for 2years now and they love being with her. Sonia is a great childminder and a lovely person. I highly recommend her! She picks our son up from Preston hedges and in September our daughter will be going to Preston hedges too. Sonia has always been available when ever we have needed her including at short notice, nothing is too much trouble for her. We have always found Sonia to be polite, professional and punctual. Sonia has been an exceptionally great childminder to my boys since my first was 9 months old, now he is 4. She is a supportive, helpful and flexible childminder who isn't particular about money or parent being late. Sonia is helpful, she has been a big aunt to myself, and a mum to my boys. She provides an excellent learning environment for every child. She was happy to provide daily reports on my child, his eating habits, and his general behavior. If you are looking for an outstanding childminder, I will recommend her anytime.
Her location also works out perfectly as I go on the M1 daily
Her place is clean and a safe environment for the children
