About Me

My name is Megan and I am 22 years old. I have just finished my probation year in the most wonderful Primary 1 class and due to the world of supply teaching, I have some free time after school hours that I am looking to fill.
My hobbies include arts and crafts, singing and playing lots of fun games.
I am local to Stirling and have my Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education, having studied for four years at the University of Strathclyde. I am also a member of the PVG scheme.

My Experience

Teaching Experience
During my four years at university, I had placements in Primary 1, 3, 4 and 5. Working with a range of children of different ages.
I just finished my probation year in the most wonderful Primary 1 class. I planned and delivered comprehensive lessons, differentiating instructions and tasks to meet the diverse needs of all learners, ensuring each learner could achieve their full potential. I created engaging and interactive activities to motivate and inspire my learners, fostering a love for learning and encouraging active participation.
Working with Primary 1, I organised play provocations designed to enhance learners' self-management skills, promoting independence and critical thinking. I built positive relationships with my learners, grounded in mutual respect, creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

International Summer Camp
I have spent the last 3 summers working at a residential summer camp for international children. I cared for a diverse group of children aged 7-15, many of whom came from various countries and did not have English as their first language.
I ensured the well-being of the children by managing daily routines, including meal times, hydration, bedtimes, and addressing occasional homesickness.
While at the camp, I taught art lessons, fostering creativity and engagement, while adapting communication to meet the needs of children from different linguistic backgrounds.
I worked closely with colleagues to stay informed about the individual needs and progress of each child, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
I also organised and led games and activities, prioritising the children's happiness, health, and safety at all times.
