My Summary
About Me
I am a recent Archaeology BA graduate from the University of Exeter, now living back home in Harrow and looking to offer tutoring to primary and secondary-aged children in English, History, Religious Education or Drama or just general early learning. I am passionate about creating a fun and engaging environment where children can thrive. I believe that education should be exciting and tailored to each child’s unique way of learning. Not every child learns the same way, and that’s the beauty of it! I understand that every child is capable of greatness when they are supported and encouraged to learn in a way that suits them best. I am a bright, cheerful, patient and passionate individual who enjoys working and helping young people. I am also available for babysitting services!
My Experience
Before attending university, I gained valuable experience working at a primary school for a year as a teaching assistant and a one-to-one support assistant for two children with special educational needs. This role allowed me to develop a deep understanding of children's diverse learning styles and needs and how to provide the personalised support they require to thrive.
While at the school, I also took the initiative to redecorate their library space, showcasing my creativity and artistic skills. This project made the space more inviting and highlighted my passion for creating environments that inspire learning.
I have also had experience tutoring and supporting younger family and friends with primary and secondary education.
I completed a placement at a National Trust site in Devon during my university studies. I participated in an archaeological dig and ran educational activities for children during half-term breaks. These sessions catered to children of varying ages and allowed me to combine my love for history with my ability to make learning engaging and fun.
In addition to my professional experience, I have also babysat for friends and family, giving me hands-on experience with children in more informal settings. I have a strong background in drama, performing arts, and music, which I often incorporate into activities to help children express themselves creatively.
