About Me

Hi, I’m Diana!

I qualified as a teacher in March and live in Heaton. I have a valid UK driving licence, my own car and I provide babysitting, childminding or tutoring at your home.

I studied Primary Education and child development at Northumbria University and have specialisms working with children who speak English as an Additional Language and in Outdoor Learning.

Currently, I am teaching on supply and am starting to set up my own creative business making mosaics, murals and artistic home improvements. I’m an extremely creative, passionate, kind person who loves finding out about people and motivating them to do great things. (It’s probably why I decided to work with children!).

My hobbies include: musical theatre, reading, TV shows and movies, surfing, yoga, painting, drawing, craft, cooking and long walks.

My Experience

I have supported children’s learning and growth for 6 years in various settings. Usually, I am responsible 5-16-year-olds in holiday clubs, sports camps, primary schools and after school art workshops. I do not have experience with infants. I am a fully qualified teacher, who sometimes does supply work in primary schools, but equally love working in the home environment where I can use flexible approaches to meet children’s needs and help explore their interests.

I will always tailor my care based on how much structure or freedom I think each individual child will benefit from and conversation between us on routines and expectations you have in your house will be invaluable to me. I am an excellent role model of kindness, respect, curiosity and ambition; I promote these values with the children I work with. For example, I am active in organising art, craft, sport, cooking or reading activities to keep children entertained. Additionally, I can offer professional homework help up to KS2 level. I am very open to feedback, ideas and willing to learn as much as possible on the different approaches of child care. I would also be interested in learning to work with infants and toddlers. Communication and consistency is key to me.

During my teaching career, I have supported ASD children 1:1. I have some experience supporting children emotionally regulate.

Any more questions let me know!
