About Me
I am a fully qualified childminder who is passionate about delivering the best care to every child. I specialise in art and design, well-being and mindfulness so my environment is ALWAYS fun and calming. I love going outdoors and exploring, I love to read and I run a book club in my setting that will be focused on each month and plan lots of activities around those books. I am dedicated to my job, so I want to give families the best possible care and I have so many benefits to offer due to being registered with a childminding agency. I love doing new things, so no day will ever be the same, I will always discover something new to show and teach the children and there is nothing I enjoy more than seeing children happy, messy and having fun; this is something I can promise to provide!
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for 10 years, with children from the ages of 0-11.
I have worked alongside children with SEND for 2 years and have lots of experience working 1:1 with children who need a little bit of extra support. I have also been support staff for EYFS in a primary school and worked all the way up the school to support year 6 children with their SATS so have lots of broad experience with children of a young primary school age.
I spent some time working in a nursery and learning all about the needs of younger children, therefore, I am very confident when it comes to looking after small children in my own setting and believe that delivering in a smaller setting gives a child more opportunities to learn than those who can sometimes be overlooked in a bigger setting with higher ratios.
My Qualifications
Alongside working, I studied a BA degree in Childhood and youth studies combined with Educational studies.
Following on from this, I studied a Master's degree in children's mental health and well-being.
I am level 1 Yoga trained, this is great for delivering calming techniques and wind-down games after lots of play.
My Availability
My opening hours are 7.30 - 18.00.
I try to be as flexible as I can with my hours to accommodate families needs.
