My Experience
I have built a comprehensive foundation in childcare and early education through my diverse experiences and positions. I work as an Early Years Practitioner, where I have developed a strong ability to create a healthy, safe, and stimulating environment for children. My role involves promoting their growth and development while nurturing relationships with the children and their families. I've gained valuable skills in effective communication, emotional attunement, and delivering engaging learning experiences tailored to individual needs. In academic areas, I am currently pursuing a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology at Bath Spa University. This coursework has provided insights into developmental processes and the complexities of human behaviour, allowing me to understand the needs of children better and apply psychological principles within my practice. My experience in child linguistics at New York University, particularly regarding developmental language disorders, has further enhanced my specialist knowledge in supporting children's language development. A significant aspect of my professional journey has been my focus on special needs, including autism and developmental language disorders (DLD). My academic pursuits, particularly my involvement in the Engage with Developmental Language Disorder Project at New York University, highlight my experience in presenting my research poster at the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCLD) conference. This opportunity allowed me to share my findings on the impact of child linguistics on children's learning and social interactions. Under the supervision of Sudha Arunachalam, I contributed to lab research focused on child language acquisition, strengthening my knowledge of language development and the socio-emotional aspects of language disorders. I am eager to provide a nurturing and enriching learning experience that promotes their growth and well-being, particularly those with special needs.
