About Me

I come from a large and loving family, being the second oldest among my nine sisters and three brothers. This dynamic upbringing has deeply influenced my passion for childcare, as I have always played an active role in supporting my parents with childcare as their health conditions progressed. My commitment to nurturing children extends beyond my family; I’ve had the privilege of supporting friends and family with their childcare needs as well.

Professionally, I have experience as an Early Years Practitioner at Mighty Oaks Little Acorns Nursery in Gloucester, where I prioritized child-centred learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) frameworks. I utilized various assessment tools, managed daily operations, and implemented safety protocols, always ensuring a supportive and engaging environment for children. My role involved evaluating children's development and planning age-appropriate activities, allowing me to celebrate each child's unique milestones.

Additionally, I served as a Key Stage 3 Reading Intervention Tutor at Gloucester Academy, where I developed tailored interventions for students struggling with reading. I believe in the importance of fostering a love for learning, and I employed evidence-based teaching strategies to help students thrive academically. My approach emphasized parental involvement, ensuring a holistic support system for each child.

I genuinely enjoy getting to know children and their families, learning about their individual likes, dislikes, needs, and goals. This insight allows me to create comprehensive care and learning plans that align with the EYFS and broader educational curriculum. My goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of the children I work with, nurturing their development and instilling a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.

My Experience

I am a dedicated childcare professional with a strong foundation in early childhood education and healthcare. I hold a Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree in Health and Social Care, along with an advanced apprenticeship in Children’s Learning and Development. My experience as an Early Years Practitioner has equipped me to design engaging activities tailored to children's developmental needs, ensuring their holistic growth.

My background in healthcare includes roles in childcare, supported living, and residential and dementia care, which have significantly enhanced my empathy and communication skills. I am adept at managing caseloads, conducting assessments, and facilitating group sessions focused on well-being, all of which contribute to a supportive environment for children and their families.

I am committed to continuous professional development and have a genuine passion for nurturing children's growth. This commitment makes me well-equipped to positively impact any childcare setting, fostering an enriching and safe space for all children.
