About Me
I am an adaptable and open-minded tutor who works to make my lessons fit the individual's unique learning style. I aim to target the areas that the student most struggles with, while also making my lessons enjoyable and engaging. I believe learning should be a fun and interesting experience that allows the student to grow at their own pace.
My Experience
I have three years' worth of teaching experience, across primary, secondary, 1-1 tuition and holiday clubs. As such, I have worked with students of a wide range of abilities and ages and can confidently work with students to find the style that works for them.
From January to June 2021, I worked as a 1-1 SEND assistant in a primary one class for a young boy with high support needs.
From September 2022-July 2023 I was a Learning Support Assistant in Didsbury High School. During this time, I supported a cohort of students with various learning and SEMH needs to achieve their goals and get through the school day.
From September 2023-May 2024, I worked as a 1-1 tutor for Newell Tuition, planning lessons for my cohort of 27 students, half of which were working towards the 11+ entrance exam and the others (Year 4 and 3) were preparing to begin the exam course in the coming year. These lessons were planned by myself, using Newell's resources and my own, and tailored to the students' needs and interests.
My Qualifications
I have a Master's degree in Gender, Sexuality and Culture from the University of Manchester and a BA in Politics and International Relations from UCD. I also have three A-Levels, History, Sociology and Drama, grade A.
