About Me
Primary School Teacher and mum of two. Experience with EYFS to Year 6. Studied Applied Psychology at the University of Durham.
I love children and learning. I can support home schooling, tutoring and child care. We can work flexibly around your household needs.
I live in Belper and am looking to work with local families to support academic success and offer homeschooling, tutoring and babysitting to manage family work-life balance whilst having your children looked after by a trusted educator.
My Experience
Qualified primary school teacher, with 9 years experience in school. Previous mathematics subject leader, with expertise on tutoring maths visually and through practical examples. Excellent proficency at teaching grammar and writing through an extensive knowledge of high quality children's books. I also particularly love to teach history, science, computing, art and DT. I have experience teaching all foundation subjects to primary level, but will happily work with older children to support GCSEs and A levels. I have a 2:1 BSc in Applied Psychology from the University of Durham, a PGCE for teaching primary education from Nottingham Trent University and have experience supporting university students with learning.
I have worked with parents and children together to support understanding homework and school work; upskilling parents knowledge for long term academic support and to build a positive family outlook on learning.
I have worked with a variety of children with SEND and complex behaviour. I have high expectations of my learners in collaboration with a nurture nature focused on relationships. I have had previous training on paediatric first aid, safe guarding, behaviour management and adaptive teaching for SEND.

My Availability
I am open to a part-time flexible working arrangement, but need to be mindful of my own children's childcare. Therefore, please contact me if you are looking for long-term support. I am available to work up to three days a week.
