I’d like to be a foster carer/parent, and would like some experience before taking on that responsibility.
My Experience
I’m new child care, but have been running several Code Clubs for 8 to 12 year olds (and a few who were a bit younger, e.g. siblings attending); I have a niece who I take out for day trips (trampoline, LegoLand, etc); and a friend who has a 2 year old daughter.
My Qualifications
None yet, but looking to get some (recommendations welcome, I know I need to renew my First Aid qualification).
My Availability
Fairly flexible, I’m a freelance programmer who can choose my own working hours, which can sometimes be overnight (to avoid distractions); my biggest limitation is the Code Clubs on Wed/Thur night, and my 1 year old “puppy” (I’m working on him staying at home alone, but firework nights are tricky for him).
