My Experience

I cared for all my grandchildren from birth and until moving to Cornwall cared for my twin grandchildren on a regular basis as well as my older two grandsons. I enjoy interacting with young children and am confident with children with special needs. I love reading stories to my grandchildren and sometimes record stories for them using my many accents which they find really fun. I can be firm when necessary but will always take the lead from how parents do their job and respect their boundaries. I have worked in lots of customer facing jobs and one in particular where I had to interact with people from all over the world, as I worked at an airport for the government. My early career was as a PA and latterly before I retired I diversified and started my own gardening business. I am computer literate and love learning new things.

My Qualifications

As an older woman I have many years of childcare under my belt. As a mother and grandmother I have learnt what works with children and how to interact with them. When my children were young I was part of a babysitting group so looked after other mums’ children and they reciprocated by caring for mine to keep the cost of childcare low. I have no formal childcare qualifications but believe that life experience and being able to listen and interact with young children is very important and something that I am confident doing.

My Availability

I am available most evenings and would consider babysitting jobs during the day too on an ad hoc basis. Also available short notice.

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
