About Me
My name is Monica and I am a Ofsted approved Childminder in Liverpool, Old Swan area. I have 4 grown up children, the youngest is 15 years old. We also have our pets, we have a dog, chickens and a hamster.
Caring for children has been a huge part of my life and has moulded me into the person I am today. I have worked in children's day nurseries for 20 years and looked after children from 6 months old to 5 years old in nursery. I love to cook, grow vegetables and love messy play and encourage children to join in with these activities.
Childminding is far from just a job to me, there is no greater joy than caring for children who represent all that is best in us. I provide all children in my care with a clean, safe, loving, home-like environment where everyone feels valued. I thrive on providing a quality based setting where standards are high, independence can be developed and where there is a wealth of learning opportunities, both structured and flexible, to help children to achieve their goals and promote their self-esteem. I follow the guidance of the Early Years Foundation Stage and make regular written observations of the children in my care in order to plan activities to support their individual development and needs.
I have a warm and welcoming home, filled with toys and designed around children's needs. I am committed to working in partnership with parents and acknowledge that parents are the experts on their own children. I treat children with care, empathy and respect and as individuals with different needs. I provide children with fun and stimulating learning opportunities that reflect their age and stage of development. I providing a nutritious diet for children and teach children about healthy food choices. I take a professional approach: ongoing training, respecting confidentiality, keeping organised records in accordance with current guidelines, having clear policies and procedures and communicating these to parents. I provide a reliable service that parents can depend on and have confidence in.

My Experience
I have raised 4 children of my own, I have my son who is now 29 and my three daughters, aged 24, 22 and 15. I have also worked as a foster carer looking after a child for 11 years until she moved on and into her own property.
My main experience is working in nurseries, I have worked in all rooms, babies, toddlers and preschool before moving into a management role. I have a foundation degree in Early Years and Education and I also have a Montessori teacher qualification.

My core hours are 8.30-6pm on a Monday & Tuesday, 7.30am - 7pm Wednesday- Friday, but I am very flexible and can accommodate hours if they fall outside of these hours.

Our little one instantly fell for Monica. After an initial meet, she couldn't wait until mummy and daddy left so she could show Monica all her toys and games. Monica looked after her and made sure she was comfortable. I have no feelings of doubt about recommending Monica and plan on hopefully using her services again.

Thank you James, I had lots of fun with your daughter and her enormous dolls house 😂your family were so lovely and accommodating. It was my pleasure.
I reached out to Monica about childcare on a Sunday as it’s so hard to find. She was lovely and accommodating and offered for us to visit her setting and chat. Her home is lovely and extremely clean, she has a huge room full of Montessori toys and activities for the kids, and a lovely big garden which she said will be used when the weather warms up.
She then offered us a settling in session which went great and now takes care of my son on Sundays. He loves it there (he is one year old) and she provides regular updates on him, and even makes him breakfast lunch and dinner. She went out of her way to buy him a cot and highchair to accommodate his needs which I really appreciated.
She’s been overall amazing, she learned all about his routine and sticks to it well, giving him naps, plenty of socialisation and playtime and lovely home cooked healthy food.
I would definitely recommend Monica to anyone looking for a home setting for their children to go to, she has lots of experience which really shows and goes the extra mile to make sure baby is comfortable and my mind is at ease while he’s there. I have met her family members which live there and they’re all lovely too, I’m so happy I found her as I think the setting & care provided is absolutely excellent.

Monica has been an exceptional teacher for my son, Kristodea. From the moment he started nursery at Little Cedar Montessori, he felt welcomed and cared for. Monica has a genuine passion for teaching and a natural ability to connect with children.
Monica has created a safe and nurturing environment where my son has thrived. He has developed his social skills, confidence, and independence under her guidance. am incredibly grateful for Monica's dedication and commitment to her students. She has made a positive impact on my son's life, and I highly recommend her as a teacher.
