About Me

Hi! Lovely to meet you I’m Shauneen, and I’ve had the pleasure of single-handedly raising two amazing young adults who are now in their 20’s. I love being around the energy of kids. I have a 15-year-old niece; I’m both her friend and her aunt. I think it’s very important to listen to our younger generation; I don’t believe that just because a child is young doesn't mean their opinions and perspectives aren’t valuable. Having raised an old soul, I can attest to the wisdom our children hold.
I have a playful, optimistic personality, and I love being out in nature. I firmly believe being out in nature is hugely beneficial to a child’s mental and physical health. I used to teach yoga to children in nurseries and schools, a job I thoroughly enjoyed. While I was a yoga teacher in nurseries, I would encourage the children to develop their imagination, as this is a powerful tool when it comes to problem-solving and planning.
I have my own business therefore, I can be flexible when needed. Your children are the most precious people in your life. Therefore, it’s crucial to find the right person to look after them. I have a great relationship with the young people in my life; I’m often a sounding board, a taxi, a confidant and a shoulder to lean on. All roles I relish and feel privileged to fulfil.
I intend to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your children to thrive in whilst having fun and great conversations along the way.

My Experience
I have 20 years of experience in childcare, having raised two children of my own. I am looking for a caring and lovely family who need my help. Experienced in all aspects of childcare, I have a clean Driving License. DBS checked.
