About Me
I currently work as a band 6 midwife at the Rosie, Addenbrookes Hospital. I am a hardworking and compassionate professional who is committed to high-quality and safe care. I have developed and deepened my clinical and communication skills dealing with a wide range of women, some with very complex medical and social histories.
Working nights and long 13 hour shift patterns has impacted my work/home life balance and I have decided to step away from my contracted role as a midwife. I intend to stay on the ‘bank’ and pick up occasional shifts but now want to work in an environment that still involves supporting and helping mothers and their families in a more personal role where I can really make a difference.
I regularly enjoy cooking and baking for my family. Also, in my spare time, I weightlift using a strict program that involves focus, endurance, and discipline to achieve goals. I have a love for hiking with my husband and two daughters. During the past year, I have found peace in birds and regularly visit RSPB centers and love nothing more than to be outside connecting with nature. Through sharing this passion of the outdoors and nature with the children I care for as well as my own daughters, I have witnessed a significant impact on their overall wellbeing.
My Experience
I now feel ready to work more personally with families and develop my skills further. In 2021 I was part of a new continuity team that was launched at the Rosie which involved having a caseload of women and was a very exciting period in my career. I was able to build deep relationships with women and support them on their whole journey through pregnancy, birth and postnatally. This working model gave me immense job satisfaction, joy and feeling of fulfilment. My ideal role would be to join a family as a mothers help, to support women in the period following delivery or as a general Nanny to support families with children.
Prior to my midwife training, I worked as Nanny for several families of different ages and still currently do last minute help for a family with two girls aged 2 and 6. I have always enjoyed working with children and their playful energy keeps me creative and energised. I have also had the experience of being a mother to my beautiful girls now aged 16 and 8 who have taught me so much around the positive effects of gentle parenting.
Having worked in the Midwife role for nearly 10 years, I have gathered significant experience caring for women and families in the perinatal period. I also have yearly in service training which includes newborn and adult life support. I also have an updated DBS check which was completed in December 2024 and have held a driving licence for 20 years.
