About Me
I am registered with Veritas Education, Prospero and GSL education in South Yorkshire, which are supply teaching agencies.
I am a qualified (7-11 year) mainstream primary school teacher, with special needs experience in primary and secondary. The weight of my experience is within special schools and after a career break to raise my young family: I have worked with adults with disabilities. I have a full enhanced DBS check, which has been completed by the Samaritans whom I volunteer for.
I am a friendly, outgoing and positive individual who will personalise and design a curriculum to suit a young learner. I work in most areas of Barnsley, and within some areas of Rotherham and Sheffield.
My Experience
Please see above. I have worked with children who have profound health and learning needs, as well as moderate learning difficulties, with some experience of pupils who have Autism and or ADHD.
During career breaks from Teaching I have worked in various Social Care settings: children and young people’s, the Humankind Charity in Barnsley and Ariya Neurological Care for adults.
I am studying to be a qualified counsellor: a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am also studying to Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEfL).
My Qualifications
GCSEs A- C grade.
Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award
A level: German and French,
QTS and PGCE in Primary Education (7-11 years)
BA (Hons) 2:2 in Combined Studies: History and English.
NVQ Level 3 Children and families
Level 5 Clinical Reflexology
Level 2 and Level 3 Therapeutic Counselling Certificates.
My Availability
At the moment, I am available from approx 9.30am throughout the day on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
