Hi, my name is Cairen, I have two beautiful children of my own that are aged 11 and 21 I live in the Burnley area, but am willing to travel, I have often been described as a kind, bubbly, trustworthy, enthusiastic and empathetic person with a caring nature.
My Experience
I currently work with children with additional needs within a school setting. This is a job I thoroughly enjoy, as I love making a difference to help children achieve and grow to the best of their ability.
• I support students with special educational needs including those with ADHD, ASD or SEMH social communication needs.
• Help students manage their emotions
• Assist students with personal care eg toileting and medical interventions eg PEG feeds
• Help students develop self-confidence, resilience, and self-regulation skills
• Use of communication aids (Eyegaze, symbols PECS and Makaton)
I've supported families with various individual needs within the home, as a support assistant, giving emotional and practical support and advice.
I also helped families prepare meals and discussed healthy eating options and budgets with them, always mindful of cultural needs and expectations.
I very much enjoy working with different members of the community and sharing good practice. It was necessary to listen to problems so that I could help in solving them - whilst considering safeguarding and respect confidentiality at all times.
