About Me
Hi, I'm Caroline, I offer 1-1 tutoring for primary aged children in a calm and friendly home environment. I have recently stepped away from regular classroom teaching to follow other pursuits.
I am a highly experienced qualified Teacher of the Deaf with over 35 years teaching in an Ofsted rated Outstanding school. I am committed to creating a positive, safe and respectful learning environment and have proven experience in establishing an excellent rapport with pupils and their families.
I am experienced in adapting the curriculum to suit the individual needs, supporting children with a variety of needs such as speech and language, Autism, ADHD and SEMH. I work alongside the child, providing tailored sessions that help them to access their full learning potential.
I tutor from my own home in a comfortable and quiet room, and provide all resources needed for our planned sessions.
My Experience
• 35 years experience in Deaf education, teaching children from ages 3-11 with a range of different academic, emotional and behavioural needs
• Experienced in adapting the curriculum to suit individual needs
• Qualified to teach both mainstream and special education
• Experienced tutor of primary aged mainstream and Deaf pupils, particularly supporting in English and Maths
My Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education (BEd) Primary & Special Education
• Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (35+ years experience)
• BSL Level 3 qualification
• Enhanced DBS check
My Availability
I tutor throughout the school year and am happy to continue sessions through the school holidays if families wish.
I currently offer 1 hour sessions Mondays to Wednesdays between the hours of 9am-6pm, with more flexibility on other days during the school holidays.
