About Me
I’m a 21-year-old social work student currently living in Aberdeen. I moved here from a small rural area in Perthshire to pursue my studies and future career. I’m passionate about working with children and am aiming to build a career in child protection social work. I have a range of experience working with children, both professionally and personally — as an aunt to twelve, I’m very comfortable and familiar with caring for and supporting young people! I’m highly flexible and happy to work across all days of the week to best support the family!
My Experience
I have previous babysitting experience working with several families, caring for children under the age of 10. My responsibilities included preparing meals, organising activities such as board games, arts and crafts, outdoor sports, and movie nights, as well as managing the children’s bedtime routine. This involved tasks like helping with bathing, reading bedtime stories, and creating a calm, relaxed environment to support a smooth transition to sleep.
I also have professional experience volunteering with an after-school youth club, supporting children from Primary year 4 through to Secondary year 1. My role involved planning and organising activities, creating engaging task schedules, actively participating in sessions with the young people, and offering emotional support whenever needed.
My ongoing studies within Social Work have provided me with a strong understanding of child welfare, child protection, and safeguarding practices, which I am passionate about applying in real-world settings.
My Qualifications
Having previously studied an HNC in social services and currently studying a BA (tons) in Social Work, I have a welfare of knowledge on the growth, welfare, development and safeguarding of children.
